Please apply these updates carefully, executing
commands as a wizard except where indicated. You may want to read
through the instructions and the update code once before actually
doing anything.
This update code will generally require that the GLOBALS
attribute on MudNet be set to the dbref of the MudNet Globals object. As
indicated in the installation instructions,
the MudNet Globals object should be owned by MudNet and located in your
master room.
Do not be alarmed if you see some error messages; the
updates will generally contain code for both PennMUSH and TinyMU* servers.
Please do report errors that occur in sections of the code that are supposed
to work on your platform; refer to comments in the update file.
- MudNet 4.0.3a, released 6/15/2001 - Download
- This update fixes several reported problems in MudNet 4.0.2a.
You need to apply this update only if you've got the 4.0.2a softcode
(see *MudNet/version). If you have an earlier version, please apply
the earlier updates in order first. As usual, proceed with caution if
you've already made changes to the softcode.
Note, this piece of the update is
for PennMUSH only and may need to be run as #1.
- MudNet 4.0.2a, released 6/10/2001 - Download
- This update fixes several reported problems in MudNet 4.0a or 4.0.1a.
You need to apply this update only if you've got the 4.0a or 4.0.1a
softcode (see *MudNet/version). Some of you may have already fixed some
of these issues differently; proceed with caution.
- MudNet 4.0.1a, released 6/09/2001 - Download
- This is a minor update which fixes a softcode problem in MudNet 4.0a.
You need to apply this update only if you've got the 4.0a softcode (see
*MudNet/version).
- MudNet 4.0a, released 6/09/2001
- This update is a major change of the softcode. For that reason, we
recommend that you @wipe the MudNet player, @destroy the existing
MudNet-related objects, and go
thru the install instructions again
(no need to resubmit the form). You'll probably want to save local
customizations such as mninfo. The
bot should be able to restore your hostkey
(VK attribute) upon connecting.
- MudNet 3.3b, released 1/13/2001 - Download
- This update is primarily intended to install the hostkey-enabled
version of the softcode. The idea is that all R-request strings sent
to the bot must begin with a host key which is not widely known. The
host key should be stored in the VK attribute of the globals object,
and also in our mudnet server config file; if you don't have a host
key set on your globals, please contact us. Your softcode (old or new)
will not work without one.
